We are committed to publishing all pieces we receive which comply with the submission guidelines below. You can submit your piece with this button or by emailing it to gwhscreativewriters@gmail.com. We recommend that you take the second option for longer pieces.
Theme: Fairytales
There are so many options! Make a fairytale of your own, or a piece inspired by a fairytale. Write a fairytale from a different perspective, focus on a single moment from it, take it to a different setting, or explore a different character. We'll accept any piece of creative writing, as long as it's somehow related to the theme--or as long as you can convince us that it is!
Submission Guidelines
General
We're open!
We aren't asking for any particular style of piece--our only requirement is that it follows (or is at least somewhat related to) the theme of fairytales.
Stay PG!
We are a school club, after all, so we need you to stay school appropriate. This is pretty self-explanatory: no profanity, sex, or excessive violence.
Be bold!
This isn't so much a requirement as an encouragement: don't be afraid to let your personality shine through! We'd love to see writing that really showcases your voice.
Submission Guidelines
By Medium
Fiction
We're leaving the word count lax! We'd love to see anything from a six word story to flash fiction to a longer piece. We ask that you limit your submissions to about 5,000 words at the maximum, but other than that, anything goes!
Poetry
We have no requirements for the form of the poem. Rhymed or free verse, haiku or prose poem, we'd love to see anything and everything! We would prefer that multiple poems are submitted separately instead of as a single submission.
Other
Send us your songs, your creative nonfiction, your experimental prose. The sky's the limit! And although writing holds a special place in our hearts, we will also accept artwork (including photography). Please note that we cannot accept filmed submissions.
